"WELCOME TO MY HUMBLE SALOON."- Kevin O’Donoghue
Owned and operated by the O’Donoghue Family since 1960, "OD’s" reflects our passions: Great food and drink in a totally unpretentious setting. You’ll know right away: This ain’t no cookie cutter "Irish" pub. Upon first entering, many folks think to themselves, "OH yeah! THIS is the ONE!"

Our decor can best be described as wood paneled with ‘refrigerator-door-art’ accents: handwritten signs proclaim promos and specials, multicolored furniture bespeaks hand-me-down comforts. There’s a brainy tackiness that’s genuine, not invented. We simply don’t have time for themes or cutesy looks that get in the way of our mission: bringing you the best food at the best price humanly possible. For example, we not only make our own french fries… we home-cut our sweet potato fries as well. "Vegans" come from miles around for our hand made veggie burgers, while flesh eaters covet our steaks, fish and fowl. Appetizers, sandwiches, entrees… you name it, it all gets the personal touch. Everybody in the kitchen gets in on designing our soups, and Mary "OD", herself bakes our desserts. And… What a Specials Board! We scour our suppliers’ weekly offerings for the freshest, tastiest ingredients to mount a listing that’s second to none. Why? Because we love food as much as you do. Heck!…Unless there’s a ball game on, we leave the big flat screen tuned to the Food Channel all day long!

Along with Mary, Ann is the other O’Donoghue sister who gives our lttle place the family touch. Our Waitstaff Manager, and a graduate of Peter Kump’s New York Cooking School, she is a professional recipe developer for a major food corporation who lends her skills to managing our customers’ home and business events and parties.

At the bar, Barry, our Bev Manager of 15 years oversees the ten wide-ranging draughts we offer, and maintains interest with two rotating lines featuring world, micro and seasonal beers that change often. We sell more Guinness, Harp and Smithwick’s than any place in the county, and recently received a "green" rating (the highest attainable) from Guinness, USA for the quality of our stout pint. Technology serves the taste of our patrons, as we employ a Micromatic mixer to produce separate gas drivers for carbonated and ungassed beers, delivering them to the glass through refrigerated lines that are unfailingly cleaned twice a month. Our wine list, though modest, features varietals that match well with virtually everything on the menu, and we are known county-wide for our outstanding martinis!

O’Donoghue’s has long been known as a crossroads for blue & white collars, families, singles, and multiple generations to meet, compare notes, exchange cards, and make friends. During the daytime and early dinner hours, parents love to fuel their offspring on our kids menu… then nab them free lemon ice pops for dessert! And, most nights, folks can toast new acquaintances with evening beverage specials, underpinned by an ever-growing library of tunes on our sound system. We like to enlist our beer suppliers in presenting monthly Thursday Night Parties that include a discounted draught, and logo tee shirt raffles. Live music takes the stage on Saturdays, and we’re always on the lookout for that next big televised playoff game to liven up chatter at the bar.

66 Main St. houses Nyack’s oldest continually operating tavern, in business since the late 1800’s. We have artifacts dating back as far as the 1910 postcard showing the pub as an outlet for Schaefer beer, and have amassed photos from the decades during and since prohibition, through ownership by the Maggios, Lindells, and our own family. It’s this sense of history that informs our vision of the future… More of the best from our past, evolving only, we hope, where it serves our patrons better. Visit us, and find out why OD’s can truly be called "The Soul of Nyack"!
