Biographical details:

Mr. Donahoe was a 1951 graduate of Malden Catholic High School and a 1955 graduate of Boston College, and also received a M.Ed. in CAGS from Boston State. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he went on to teach math and history at Somerville High School. He was the head of the Work Study Program there until his retirement.

He represented Winchester on the NE Regional School Committee from 1973 to 1985, and was chairman for a term. He was past commodore of the Winchester Boat Club and served as a director and secretary for 16 years. He was a past president of the Winchester Scholarship Foundation, a former trustee of Somerville Hospital and the Cambridge Health Alliance, and was on the board of the Somerville Home. He was also past exalted ruler of the Somerville Elks Lodge 912 and a longtime member of the Somerville Kiwanis.

He had been a director and chairman of the scholarship committee and an active alumnus of Boston College. He was a member of the BC Club of Cape Cod, and had been a season ticket holder for BC football games since his graduation.
