O'Donohoe

Title:
Nationality:
British
Walk of life:
singer, musician, coach and a senior leader of the Dances of Universal Peace.
Biographical details:

I began leading these dances in 1988 and have done so professionally since 1992. I once put an advertisment in a dance journal "Have guitar: will travel". Little did I know what I was letting myself in for! I now give seminars, workshops and dance trainings throughout the UK and internationally.

For many years prior to finding the dances I was a serious student of yoga and eventually a teacher of that discipline. As a musician and singer, the yoga of sound and mantra were particularly appealing to me and I explored these aspects in depth. I am also a Bioresonance Practitioner and a Spiritual Coach.

My home is in Dorset where I live with my beloved wife Lucinda.

Before leading the dances full-time I was a professional librarian at senior management level in a polytechnic with responsibility for over 50 staff.

To date I have released three recordings – The House of Tansen, The Medicine Buddha Dharani and Dharma.

My spiritual direction since 1989 has been along the Sufi path under the guidance of my Murshid, Saadi Neil Douglas-Klotz.

I have been a teacher of Sufism since 1998 and act as a spiritual guide for a number of people.

I am a Senior Mentor Teacher and a member of the Mentor Teachers’ Guild.

For a number of years I have been involved in the Dance Network at international level.

1994 – 1996 – Member of the Peaceworks Board of Directors.

1996 – 1999 – Joint European Regional Networker for the dances along with Gita Onnen from Germany.

1998 – 1999 – Member of the Management Team for the UK dance network.

1999 – 2000 – Chairperson of the International Council of the International Network for the Dances and a member of the Peaceworks Board of Directors.

2002 – 2004 – Member of the MTG Sub-Committee
