Donahue led the NL in games, starts, and complete games for last-place St. Louis in 1897 and lost a league-high 33 games with a bloated 6.13 ERA. With the Phillies the next year he no-hit the Braves 5-0 on July 8 and then won 20 games three times between 1899 and 1902.
