Biographical details:
Pat Donahue is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited, located at the company’s Canadian headquarters in Toronto. Mr. Donahue began his career with McDonald’s in Vancouver in 1968 in restaurant operations as a crew person. Since then, his unique skills coupled with an incredible sense of dedication and drive quickly became noticed as he rose through mid-and upper-management operations positions to his appointment as Director of Operations in 1980. Pat was promoted to Assistant Vice-President in 1980, Vice-President in 1982 and Senior Vice-President in 1990, before transferring to the Michigan region as a Regional Vice-President in 1991.
His return to McDonald’s Canada in 1998 was marked by his appointment as Executive Vice-President, and subsequently Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1999.
During his career Pat has supported numerous community and children’s not-for-profit organizations and he is an active contributor to Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities of Canada.
Pat Donahue became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited on January 1, 2001, responsible for all aspects of the company’s operation including its over 1,150 restaurants and partnership with its over 270 Canadian franchisees and 75,000 employees.
Mr. Donahue and his wife Julie reside in Toronto.
