Have one relative thought John Donoghue came from Limerick, but nothing has been found. John Donoghue has three sisters, Catherine, Ellen and Margaret from a step mother named Margaret. All three died on an 1852 ship to Mobile, Alabama, I was told by a research librarian back in 1986 at University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. I suspect the records were identified afterwards, as most records simply said 250 Irish Immigrants, Men, Women, and children. His age was listed as 49 in 1874 when he died of Yellow Fever. Two CSA records have him being born around 1825, which agrees with his grave marker. I am doing the DNA-Y study to help locate the area of his birth.
