My 2x Great grandfather, Thomas and his wife Maria Bourke had at least three daughters that were baptised in the Catholic church. My great grandmother, Bridget was baptised at Stonehall, Kilcornan on 15 April 1838. She emigrated out to Australia in the early 1860’s. She had two husbands throughout her lifetime and six children that reached adulthood and as a consequence I have several half second cousins that I match with because of DNA that comes to me via Thomas O’Donoghue or Maria Bourke. Furthermore, I have scores of matches that cluster with these second cousins but can’t get far enough back with my tree to know the MRCA.
