John Grandfield (564)
Family legend has it that 3 or 4 brothers were expelled from Ireland for "ringing the church bells." This legend exists in other branches of the Grandfield family in other parts of the United States. I think this has to do with the tithe wars in Ireland and want to find out more.

Patrick O’Donoghue (550)
I am not sure about dates for Patrick O’Donoghue but my Great, Great Grandfather Joseph O’Donoghue was born in 1858 and on his marriage certificate dated 01/06/1884 his father is shown as Patrick O’Donoghue so I am guessing Patrick was born between 1820 and 1840 and is not likely to have lived any later than 1920. It is believed that Patrick came to England from Cork and settled in Birmingham for at least a while as his son Joseph stated on a census that he was born in Snows Hill, Birmingham. My family have been told in the past that all family records were lost in a fire at a church that held family records. However, I am not sure if this was in England or Ireland or if in fact it is true but it seems hard to find any family records prior to 1880.
