Why it was named after him/her?:
Donohue Highway in Queensland, Australia This route is described on aussiebiker.com.au as follows ‘The Donohue Highway from Boulia to Tobermorey on the Northern Territory border is 253km of dirt and can be quite rough with severe corrugations and long patches of bull dust. Care needs to be taken with the bull dust holes on the road. These 'holes' or craters filled with fine powdery dust known as bull dust can be spotted and avoided so long as you keep your speed down allowing plenty of reaction time. Another hazard is the cattle which are the same colour as the red dirt road, therefore they are sometimes hard to see. Before leaving Boulia it is essential to contact Boulia police for a road condition report. The road is impassable during or after rain.’ In reply to his enquiry, the Boulia Shire Council in far western Queensland gave John the following information on how this road got its name. ‘The Donohue Highway is named after one of Boulia's past Mayors or Chairmen, Cliff Donohue.
