Donohoe Bros, Patrick, Michael, Joseph and John probably did not leave Ireland together. Patrick arrived very late 1840s thru West Indies into Mobile, Alabama and to New Orleans. Worked with slaves going up the Mississippi. The brothers did meet all together in southeastern Iowa in the town of Burlington for a short time. Patrick and Michael settled on neighboring farms in this part of of in Johnson County near Iowa City. Brothers John and Joseph chose to settle in St. Joseph area of Buchanan Co, Missouri. The two groups of Donohoe/O’Donoghue/Donohue brothers lost track of each other because of the separation.
