Jeremiah O’Donoghue is my wife’s grandfather who emigrated to the USA on 6/7/1913. He was born 13 February 1889 in Cahirbarnagh, Rathmore, Kerry to Daniel O’Donoghue and Johanna Keefe or O’Keefe. Jeremiah had two brothers – John and Patrick – and two sisters – Molly and Margaret – of which their American descendants know little if anything. It is believed that John & Patrick remained in Ireland, Molly moved to Hudson Falls, New York but then returned to Ireland, married Patrick Collins and died in Newmarket, County Cork – date unknown. Johanna O’Keefe had a sister Mary that emigrated to New York State about 1867. Nothing else is known of Johanne O’Keefe’s family or who Daniel O’Donoghue hails from.

Bartholomew was my great great grandfather. He never migrated. My great grandfather, his son, migrated to the USA between 1870 and 1880. Bartholomew’s wife may have been named Katie or Kathryn. Daniel was born in 1856.

He was married to Rose Sullivan, but we do not know if this was prior to migration or after migration. He migrated to W. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania about 1855. We know he was a drover and a butcher and they had six children, one being John Harold Donohue, born 1863 in Philadelpia, Pennsylvania. Michael’s parents were John & Rosanna (Sullivan) Donohue.

A family picture shows a grocery store at 3520 Market St. Phila. PA around 1862. Sign above states," Donohoe and Son, Since 1845" Philip rented and then bought store in 1867. His brother was Bernard. Married Mary Lynch. I believe his father was Philip and may have died about 1825. Phila. Philips will was 1884 that places his birth about 1821. Looking for immagration to Phila. and an information on parents that remained in County Cavan.

Elizabeth Donhou(nee Warren)married on 29th October 1887 at Sunninghill, Berkshire John Donhou. Elizabeth was the second wife of John Donhou as his first wife Sarah died in 1881, age 21, at Luton. Elizabeth was born about 1858 & possibly died in 1922 at West Ham, London.
