The ship sailed from Southampton on June 18, 1904.The ships manifest states the last town of residence as Grange, which is in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. He was traveling with Peter Harvey to meet Peter’s uncle Bernard Harvey in Philadelphia, PA…and later married Peter’s Sister Catherine Harvey who lististed her last place of residence as Moy, Co. Tyrone.

John was also known as John O’Donoghue in Glasgow, Scotland according to his will. He ran a Butter Merchants in Navan in 1838 and took over his brother Christopher’s Fruit Merchant business in Glasgow in 1857. I want to confirm where John and Christopher where born. I know their parents were Michael Donohoe and Julia (possibly Juliette) Mangin.

Irish family tradition says that this Kerry O’Donoghue family may have migrated from Galway? They were in Drumnacurra townland at least as early as the 1820s. After emigration to New Zealand, they became O’Donoghues.
