Localising a name in Ireland
For localising a name in Ireland the best sources are still Sir Richard Griffiths' Primary Valuation of Tenements (1848-64), now widely available on CD-ROM, and the BMD indexes from 1864. A full extract of Irish birth certificates 1864-74 is on the Mormon Vital Records Listing, which is available on the society web site under Shared Resources, and likewise available in most local studies libraries and for sale
